Create your Trilo workspace

Sign up for Trilo and create your workspace. Set up your Areas and Projects structure.

Invite your team

Add team members to Trilo so they’re ready when content arrives.

Identify what to migrate

Not everything needs to come over. Focus on active pages and databases.

Exporting from Notion

Export Individual Pages

For a few important pages:

Open the page in Notion

Navigate to the page you want to export.

Click the ••• menu

In the top right corner, click the three-dot menu.

Select Export

Choose Export from the dropdown.

Choose Markdown format

Select Markdown & CSV for best compatibility with Trilo.

Download the file

Save the exported file to your computer.

Export Your Entire Workspace

For larger migrations:

Go to Settings & Members

Click Settings & Members in Notion’s sidebar.

Select Settings

Click the Settings tab.

Scroll to Export content

Find the Export all workspace content section.

Click Export all workspace content

Choose Markdown & CSV format.

Wait for the export

Notion will email you a download link when ready.
Notion exports can take a while for large workspaces. You’ll receive an email when it’s ready.

Importing to Trilo

Pages and Documents

Create a new Page in Trilo

Navigate to your project and click + NewPage.

Open your exported Markdown file

Open the .md file from Notion in a text editor.

Copy the content

Select all and copy (Cmd/Ctrl + A, then Cmd/Ctrl + C).

Paste into Trilo

Paste into the Trilo editor. Formatting will be preserved.

Re-add images if needed

Upload images that weren’t embedded inline.

For Notion databases that serve as data tables:

In Notion, export the database view as CSV.

Create a Spreadsheet in Trilo

In your project, click + NewSpreadsheet.

Import the CSV

Use the import feature or paste data directly.

Set column types and formatting.

Open the CSV and identify columns for title, status, assignee, due date.

Use the CSV as reference to create tasks in Trilo. For smaller lists, manual creation is often faster than importing.

Configure task statuses to match your workflow (Backlog, To Do, In Progress, Done).
Trilo’s task management is purpose-built, not database-based. You’ll find features like quick status changes, keyboard shortcuts, and AI assistance that make it faster than Notion’s database approach.
